Great little game that I missed out on somehow in the past...good story line and decent graphics with a rather rewarding head shot zoom. The only slight criticism was the movement was a little wooden in places and got you stuck and having to break cover to extricate occasionally. That aside very enjoyable and worth a go if you enjoy sniping type operations without having to race against the clock.

If you're into FPS type games, you'll probably be a bit frustrated with this; it's a bit like playing Day of Defeat or Medal of Honour but with the limitation that you're only allowed to shoot a couple of people per level.

I like the idea of being a WW2 sniper, looking for cover, sneaking about, taking the shot then relocating, all that stuff.....but this is more frustrating than enjoyable I found. Great idea and executed pretty well, but it is a bit frustrating to be sneaking around, checking for enemy snipers and troops with binoculars, basically trying to do the job and then realising that there was an enemy dude stood behind a wall you could never have seen.

Personally i think this would've worked better as more of a FPS rather than 3rd person, but thats a minor grumble.

Great graphics, not-so-good sound (the crack of the rifle is particularly uninspiring and the pistol shot is a joke), good effects (contrived bullet time shots included) and suspect level design...all amounts to a very adequate although atmospheric game, which could've been amazing with some minor changes; the story of many a PS2 title.
