Jedis might get all the attention, but the real stars of the Star Wars universe have to be the Sith. Think about it: who’s more awesome, the goody-two-shoes farmboy, or the double-ended lightsaber wielding horror clown? Exactly. Now you don’t get to play as Darth Maul here, but you do get to play as a brand new apprentice to Lord Vader, and abusing the Force to decimate wookies, rebels and Stormtroopers alike is the pinnacle of evil fun.

The graphics and physics are exceptional, so when you use Force Grip to throw and enemy through a space station’s window and out into the vortex of space, it looks as awesome as it sounds. Chuck in a genuinely well-scripted and well-acted story, complete with beautiful cutscenes, and you’ve got the most impressive Star Wars experience since Knights of the Old Republic on the old Xbox.

The in-game camera occasionally places itself rather unhelpfully, and the Wii version's graphics don't compete with those on it's more powerful rivals, but Force Unleashed remains a great game even on the weaker platform. The force is a powerful weapon. Everyone seeing Star wars will say I want the force. And now you have it in this incredible sci-fi action game. In the prologue, you play as the hardcore Darth Vader, invading the wookie's home-planet. At the last bit of the prologue, you fight a jedi, which is the easiest boss to beat. Then you play as a sith apprentice for Darth Vader, and it gets harder from then. The multi-player, even though 2 player, is a great feature to the game. Great characters, great powers, great game.

Look past the graphics and you have a pretty solid Star Wars experience that the controls work well with and worth your time to complete.

Having played this game on the PS3 i was quiet impressed, however this hasn't passed over to the Wii platform particularly well. It should have been a joy to wheel the wiimote as a light saber but this is just not the case with difficult controls to master and trying to combine the nunchuk and controller together just made this not an enjoyable experience and while i would score this game far higher on the PS3 it just doesnt live upto expectations on the wii.

Lego Star Wars set the precedent in this area: and this can't touch it.

This is little more than an interactive cut scene. A lot of the coolest bits are animated footage and not something you can control yourself

That said though I didn' t hate it.

It's good fun to throw the scenery around, destroy statues and slam enemies into each other.

BUT: the light saber action isn't particularly responsive despite boasting 5 different attacks. The graphics are rather ropey - a couple of times I ended up stood INSIDE a door and some of the larger monsters/robots stand in mid air if one foot lands on a raised platform.

The bosses are defeated by a combination of waggling either the wiimote or the nunchuk. It looks more like wii-maracas than fighting for the darkside.

Go and play Lego Star Wars instead
