(4)A Tale with plenty of Grace
By The-Gamer (9 reviews) , 05 May 2013The lastest game in the series (in english) to grace western shores. The story centres on Asbel lhant as he tries to save the world from the uprising of an demon. A nicely done story, an array of different and a very satisfying and a fun battle system that never gets stale. Even with you've finished there's an extra scenario and difficulty so you won;t get bored any time soon- Was this review helpful to you?

By bntyhntr (2 reviews) , 10 Oct 2012Played Tales of Vesperia to death and this is a welcomed addition apart from the slow beginning where you play through the childhood as soon as you get past the dreary repetitive beginning this game really goes up a notch it game play and story with fantastic anime artwork and beautiful cut scenes along with great character development this is a game to get will be a long time until I give this back- Was this review helpful to you?

Tales of Graces (another try)
By Dudemaister (1 review) from Sheffield , 08 Oct 2012I previously wrote a bad review for this game but I do admit I did not give it the time it deserves.
So here's my second review
Introduction
Ok so Tales of Graces is a JRPG and VERY Japanese at that. It contains anime style cut scenes and a very cheesy J-pop sounding track on the intro. All you fans of the Jap style will love it, I must admit though I skip the into every time.
Gameplay
You control a guy named Asbel from a over the top style view point similar to that of Suikoden 3. Also like in Suikoden 3 the camera is always set to auto which means you can't easily look at things like scenery. This at first is quite annoying but you get used to it after awhile. The battle system can be very fun once you get the hang of it! You get to pick who you would like to control and can switch at any time. You run through a kind of circle battle arena and fight similar to the Star Ocean style.
Graphics
The game is very nicely presented with nice looking character models on 3D environments. The environments can look slightly generic an sometimes boring but this is only a minor detail which most people wouldn't even notice.
Sound
The soundtrack for me is very generic and boring. I always concider the soundtrack to play a big part to help create a feel for things like dungeons, villages and also help set the mood. They seemed to have not really spent much time with no memorable tracks unlike in other RPG's like Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy or Chrono Cross/Trigger.
That being said the voice acting is done really well! It really adds so much to the game as you enjoy the story and actually listen when there talking. The script can also be quite realistic at times.
Story
The story remind me of the old Suikoden games about war and corruption. The game follows a more traditional RPG approach with less side quests and more following the main story. Which some people might not like the sound of, but I found it a breath of fresh air after playing Dragons Dogma where the storyline is very brittle and you find yourself doing pointless side quests for hours at a time for usless NPC's.
Recommend
I would definitely recommend this game for anyone who likes traditional RPG's like they used to be back on the PS1 and 2. It may take an hour or 2 to get into the game as at first even i was extremely wary but once you get to know the characters and learn how to fight you will soon be hooked!- Was this review helpful to you?
