A Balanced Review
By CeeDeeBee (1 review) , 24 Jan 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
For those looking for something new in the way of the Tekken series this is absolutely not going to be for you. If on the other hand you want to relive what is arguably the most complete and polished Tekken game to date (in the form of Tekken Tag Tournament HD) it delivers on all fronts.
The additional content on the disk is a 'prologue' of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 which is little more than a demo of the upcoming release. The other content is a feature length CGI movie that whilst entertaining enough to pass an hour and a half, was never going to be an Oscar nominee.
Tekken Tag HD, which is the primary feature here absolutely makes this worth a rental. It is one of the most balanced beat-em-ups I have ever played and falls neatly into the category of 'quick to learn, hard to master' and even now, the game holds up pretty well graphically. Throw in the phenomenally fun Tekken Bowl minigame and you have yourself a winner.
If you're into beat-em-up's get some friends round, pop this in and you are guaranteed a weekend of fun and grudge matches.- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)It's Tekken Tag HD with some extras
By 3shirts (7 reviews) from Bedford , 24 Apr 2012Calling this Tekken Hybrid smells a bit like BS to be honest. What you have here, and be under no illusion, it an HD update of Tekken Tag Tournament with some extra features thrown in.
Tekken Tag:
The first game I had on my PS2 and one I kept throughout the life of that console, this is still one of the best balanced fighting games I've ever played. It's accessible for the newbie button mashers with a few characters who respond especially well to that play style, but with a learning curve that will reward those who put time in and learn the really skilful characters.
The tag feature adds a great level of tactics to the fight and I've had many fun hours playing this with friends even with wildly differing ability.
It's not the best looking fighting game, even in HD, but it's still fantastic fun!
Tekken Tag 2 prologue:
Literally just a demo. It features just 4 characters (Xiaoyu, Elisa and the devil forms of Jin and Kazuya). It plays and looks great but prologue is not a justifiable moniker for such limited content.
Tekken Blood Vengeance
This is a CGI movie which tells the story after Tekken 5. I was disappointed with the lack of featured characters and the plot meanders quite a lot in the middle. Not a bad film but only worth watching if you are really into the Tekken universe and the various intertwined backstories.
This disk is really all content that should be downloadable from the PSN store, not a 'full' game. The only real feature here is Tekken Tag HD which, while it is a fantastic fighting game in itself, doesn't justify a full release.
It is especially jarring considering you have to install the whole game (both TagHD and Tag2:prologue) to the hard drive to play them. You still need the disk in the drive to play though so it's the worst of both worlds!
If you loved Tag as much as I did, it's worth a rental or wait for a cheap copy to pop up on eBay but the rest of the content fails to justify a full disk release or the title 'Hybrid'.- Was this review helpful to you?

worth the time!
By Flood31 (15 reviews) , 08 Mar 2012This game is fantastic - its been so good to play Tekken Bowl again and I really hope they bring it out in the full game of TTT2 and maybe make it online.
the film is brilliant and the prologue plays so well and is replayable despite there being 4 characters - the intro music is a remixed version of the first TTT intro and the school level has a remixed version too from the original and that makes it all the better - such a good little package and worth every seccond of any Tekken fan's time - Tekken bowl is for winners! *Chicken!*- Was this review helpful to you?

looks great in 3d
By NativityInBlack (119 reviews) from Birmingham , 18 Feb 2012I never had tekken tag on ps2, so after a brief moment with the hd remaster I gave up on it as I didn't think it played as well as tekken 6. If you have nostalgia for it I'm sure you would get a lot of enjoyment from it though. As for tekken tag 2 prologue, I really liked it, even though it's just a demo I played it a couple of times, in 3d and 2d, it's very similar to tekken 6 but looks more polished... I would definitely consider buying based on how good that demo was. Finally the real point of my rental was Bloodvengance? (whatever the CG films title is), while in terms of story it doesn't come close to genuine anime or even the street fighter 2 anime I found it very enjoyable and it looks great in 3d. The quality of the CG really impressed, and the story was fun. Recommend to fans of the tekken franchise.- Was this review helpful to you?

Does not look any better than the ps2 version
By Cage2011 (88 reviews) , 16 Feb 2012Nothing new it's supposed to be a hd version of the ps3 version but it looks exactly the same to me, it's has 2 tekken games (both of which you need to install on your hard drive) and a movie- Was this review helpful to you?
