Fun...for five minutes
By a customer from London, England , 11 Mar 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
Having watched and enjoyed the movie I rented this game in the hope that it might provide the same action and entertainment as its big screen counterpart. Unfortunately I think this title would fail to even satisfy the movies most die-hard fans.
The game play is limited, swatting baddies with your wii stick and jumping over obstacles seems to be the main action point..rather reminiscent of a 1988 platformer..except 3D. Added to this, the constant jibber jabber of both your spirit daemon and your own character (Lyra) gets really annoying.
For the first 5 minutes I have to admit that it was quite fun roaming around as a polar bear and clobbering baddies, but this soon loses its appeal. Overall rating: 1/5 (for die hard fans maybe 3/5)- Was this review helpful to you?

By Clive Richards from swansea UK , 21 Mar 2010This is one of my favorite movies of all time- so sad the sequal will not be made - it was hit by the religious right in the US but popular worldwide - what a pity filmaking is all about $$ box office takings- Was this review helpful to you?

By mucca (7 reviews) from Rotherham , 12 Mar 2008My three girls enjoyed this despite not seeing the movie. It is more for the older ones ie age 12, my youngest girl (7) found it quite difficult to do the different tasks.- Was this review helpful to you?
