Was okay.... Nothing special it doesn't live up to the standards of the PS1 Spyro. Thought i would recommended this game if your looking for some easy G's for your account as it gives you achievements for stuff as simple as moving your controller..

  • Spyro Not the best One

Not the best game of the series. Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon was a little disapointing as the camera is always pointing in the wrong direction, you can't control it. The norks (there not actuelly called norks) have health bars now. Also the bosses are soooooo hard its unbelivebul (sorry bad spelling). But I have had so much fun with this game because you can FLY!!!! It gave me hours of entertainment. This game has beautiful scenery the graphics are AMAZING! But it's too difficult and its just not the little purple dragon that runs around the hills anymore....... Coming from an old Spyro fan.....

  • Disappointing to the nostalgic.

It was a big wave of nostalgia that possessed me to rent this game. Well, that, and the promise of easy gamerscore that comes with children's titles on the 360. Mostly it was the fond memories of bashing through box after box of coloured gems with my little firefly, Sparx, whooshing after me, in the previous Spyro games, of the cartoony graphics and vibrant, varied level designs, the upbeat music and those blasted, speedy egg-thieves.

This game lacks all of the magic Spyro used to possess. Now he doesn't just breathe fire, he also breathes ice, electricity and earth. He has mana points. He levels up. This is not Spyro. You don't hold down a button to charge at frog-like gnorcs. Big, Lord of the Ring-esque gollums shatter the scenery, the platforms you jump between are separated not by a bright blue sunny sky but by a vast chasm of darkness. The characters are designed more realistically (well, so far as can be done with talking, biped cheetahs and mythical creatures, anyway), and they do look good, but they're just not Spyro. It takes itself far too seriously. It's darker than a game about a talking purple dragon really ought to be.

A needless combo-counter racks up how many times your button-bashing has connected with an enemy, though there doesn't seem to be any purpose to this. The camera is often poised at a ridiculous angle, so you fall off a crag of rock and into the abyss. On the plus side, Spyro can finally fly in this game so it's not too much of a problem - a few frantic bashes of the jump button and you're back on track.

The graphics are sub-par for a seventh generation console game, though it does also appear as a PS2 title, which suggests it was tacked on for a 360/PS3 release to turn a little more profit.

So here we are. I still want to play Spyro, but have resigned myself to scouring eBay for a copy of the PlayStation version. I'll have to settle for a meagre 5 gamerscore on it too, as I don't think I can bear to play any further.

I rented this for my fiance who was a big Spyro fan. Since it was two player we both enjoyed flying around. We had a wonderful time joking around and forcing each other from one part of teh screen to another as

I don't think the game has much in last-ability but is definitely worth renting if you like cute games or have young children
