    [Highly rated reviewer]

I have spent the past 2 months playing skate, a vastly superior skateboard sim. And after over 10 years of being a Tony Hawks fan as soon as i inserted this latest game into my 360, i was shocked by how poor the gameplay and visuals are when put up against skate.

Im not going to go into details, suffice to say this is huge evidence that the Tony Hawk franchise seems dead in the water...

This was a good game but if you want a really good skating game then skate is the one to get. the graphics are fairly average but after a while this game gets very boring...unlike skate.

Plain and simply, it's the old Tony Hawk format but concentrating on doing wacky stunts (thanks to Margera) then skateboarding and getting high scores. Honestly, after the stereotyped characters you interact with, i felt ashamed to be a skateboarder.

It looks as though this will be Neversoft's last Tony Hawks game, and it's not exactly a good farewell. I am a massive Tony Hawks fan, and have played the series right from the beginning. For me Project 8 was the best, and after a long time I managed to complete it 100%. This isn't bad, but it seems like a huge middle finger to the fans as the difficulty is taken to a whole new level. Way too hardcore.

I would like for people to ignore claims that Skate is 'better'. Tony Hawks has always been an arcade style game. Tony Hawks is to Skate what Project Gotham is to Grand Turismo. It isn't aiming to be a sim, so stop treating it like one. Still this isn't the best by far, but might be worth a try for Tony Hawk fans.

This game well and truly ends the Tony Hawks series

Its going to take an extremely good game for TH games to get their rep back

This is not on the same level as the old games

Tony Hawks dies with under ground 2

This gets very boring very quick

    Buy Skate 2

If your after just a crazy bit of skate fun then this is worth a look. If you want to really skate then get Skate 2....

Its a shame that the Tony Hawks games are heading down the pan, its time that they went back and looked at what made the first 2 so amazing.

A deffinate improvement on Project 8 and worth playing if your a fan of the series but pales in comparison to the young punk on the park that is Skate 1 & 2
