First off this ISN'T the ideal rental for anyone because it's VAST. Secondly, it's just not going to be the game for everyone either but those who like it will probably get a LOT from it. It shares a lot with old school dungeon crawlers like Diablo in the amount of loot found and dropped and the monsters fought.

It has a similar amount of gloss to the team's usual games(DW series)which is a good art style but not the level of polish you generally get with PS3exclusives made by Sony themselves or the bigger multiplatform games like FF-there's more than a nod here to the art of the AMAZING Demon's Souls too.

Star of the show is the dual pronged approach of the deeper than you'd think combat engine and the story where , despite the sad lack of explorable towns(I think they just ran out of cash as the concepts for towns look amazing), you do get to see lead Areus and his cohorts progress toa point you do care about what happens to them.

Sure, it's got issues but the critics, mostly, either didn't play it through(some amazing boss battles a la DS again)or just wanted it to be glossier and more immediate than it is-it DOES take four or five hours to get into but for a game you could EASILY play for over 130hours that's not a real problem.

There's a reason the user reviews for this level out around 8/10-action RPG fans with a knowledge deeper than most reviewers these days appreciate the depth and length while accepting the flaws for the benefits and critics don't have the time to give this much of a chance.

Anyway, it's not a game for everyone but if you like Diablo or DW you'll find, if you stick at it, a host of goodness in this package which is huge value in this day and age where a campaign can be as short as Fable3s or shorter.

  • MASSIVE game 200+ hours of rpg fun

This is a top top game if you got 200 hours to kill as this game is MASSIVE. I found myself getting bored and rundown by the end as its repatative going over same level's again and again doing diffrent quest but same level's over and over. But as a rpg the game is top's the fighting easy to get to grips with the puzzles easy to understand it makes for a enjoyable game, and a easy way to kill a few weeks playing

It is a good game it is along the lines of guild wars and it is a very very long game I think it could take months to complete but it is defiantly one I am going out to get for my self it is mind catching, you seem to fall into the game as if it is you that is the one with the big sword it is brilliant.
