This is my first time playing a Marvel vs. Capcom game and it wasn't for me at all.

With that said however, there are plenty of characters to choose from all with different styles and moves which was great. Visually it looks amazing and the finishing moves each character has also look fantastic.

It is a very difficult game for new comers like myself and this can be off putting. For fans of fighting games like Tekken, this may be a little too fast and hectic and best to be avoided. With this said however, there are plenty of different modes (Online and Offline) which is nice to see.

Overall, if you haven't played this series before be warned that it can be very fast and hard to pick up at first and very repetitive (so great to rent). Colourful, a blast when playing with friends but not the best fighting game on the market.

  • Too Mad!

Personally this game is not a winner in my eyes which is a dam shame! I really enjoyed MvC2 but this one just doesn't do it for me. The big issue I had was the controls, I ran through a few training levels but when it came to an actual fight I ended up resorting to frantic button bashing and general 'what-the-hell-did-I-just-do?' playing style. Maybe with a bit more patience I may have come round to this games way of thinking but I just couldn't or maybe didn't want to give it anymore of my time when Mortal Kombat was for me a more comfertable game to pick up and get into

Overall a decent game. I've not played the previous ones, so I'm not able to draw a comparison between old MvC titles. However, having played a variety of fighting games I'm pleased to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this one. A few of the achievements are merely a time sink rather than any indication of skill, whereas others go the other end of the spectrum, requiring you to pull off length combo's with super human precision. I'd say this is worth renting for fans of Marvel, Capcom or just fighting games.

  • Button bashing 101

    Button bashing hell

Its fun for the first few rounds where you somehow manage to land a 50 hit combo without knowing what your doing but then its takes a steep nosedive.

If you've played previous versions of the game you'll like it a hell of a lot more.

I managed to get to the last level just by smashing everything. It wasnt until my second play that i looked into the tutorial

Its definately a rentworthy game but never buy it!

Worth a go to kill an hour or two

I rented this game because I was looking for an okay fighting game cause I but this was more than okay the graphics are amazing the gameplay is amazing and the controls are simple but to be honest I only really wanted this game for its marvel characters. This is a good game to rent but not to buy as you might get bored after awhile.

ok lets not beat around the bush, alot of you are thinking the same as i did when i first learned about the ultimate version of mvc3 'why cant the extra characters and modes be dlc for mvc3?' but after playing ultimate mvc3 i realised this its not just a case of having 10 extra characters, every original character has been tweeked and modified and has made for a more balanced and less infuriating experience which can not be done to that scale with updates or dlc. In fairness the new characters are a bonus and make the game complete. I enjoyed every second i played Umvc3 and if you enjoy your fighters then I'd highly recommend playing this game.
