Better than Stranglehold

First of all, to the other 'reviewers', I think its fine for people to make their opinions know on a game/film that isn't out yet, to an extent.
The demo for this is up on the Playstation Network, and I've played both that demo and another level from the floor at Gamescon along with seeing alot of gameplay footage.
I will most likely be playing this on the Xbox 360 as I do with most game, but I do game on my PS3 too.
Right, right from the first bit of gameplay footage this game has been dubbed 'Stranglehold with a chick' by many medias but that is so not true. It lulles you into a false sense of being like Stranglehold before stamping that idea into the ground.
What I've played was very enjoyable and from the gameplay footage of wider parts of the game is looks to be a very fun game, nothing too special but fun.
So basicaly, going from everything thats available at the moment it doesn't look like it'll be any thing groundbreaking or particulary awesome, but it certainly seems to be a fun ride.- Was this review helpful to you?

(47)Massive let down
By UncleVagrant (6 reviews) , 20 Feb 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
This game starts off fairly well with action from the word go, but then quickly devolves into button bashing. I'm really annoyed how ineffectual this game is in living up to its own game dynamics. Once you die a few times from trying to play it like a regular shooter, you quickly become aware that success is only possible by sliding or leaping about to go into 'bullet time' slow motion. This weakens the action so much that you almost don't need to bother with the extra weapons that come along. This appears to be the best way to avoid damage but further in the game there are times when you are stuck on the top of moving vehicles and the only way to dodge is to stay alive long enough for a button prompt!
There's also too much style over substance, much in the way Bayonetta failed. There's a very distracting, constant flickering effect that makes the game look like badly damaged film. This has clearly been identified as a problem DURING production as there is an option to switch it off!
It does have some nice touches with vintage advert footage and a jaunty soundtrack (although this does get a bit annoying if you are struggling on any particular level). Rage Mode is absolutely great, and its a shame this isn't used to drive the game more. Rubi, the main character, shoots someone close range and her face is covered in blood at the start of these levels. This changes the game view into a texture-free high contrast version, with heavy use of bright red everywhere. The action alters slightly too and the general idea is to kill quickly and consecutively while traversing the levels more like a Tomb Raider title.
The game is cumbersome to play and fails to make better use of its own successful elements. I wanted to like this more but it essentially lets itself down.- Was this review helpful to you?

Very average
By Lockey1992 (13 reviews) , 05 Feb 2012Got boring very fast, you cant simply shoot even in an open space you must dive around which i found completely pointless. the graphics are nothing special but it is an old game...probably would be very fun if your drunk.- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't bother
By sect (5 reviews) , 18 Sep 2011This game is awfull. the final boss is just quick time events. that says it all. if you 1000g it then you have a hell of a tolerance to S**t games and deserve a pat on the back- Was this review helpful to you?

Fails to make you Wet.
By Scottibatous (3 reviews) from Hoddesdon , 09 Jul 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Wet delivers on the cool gameplay factor for about 20 minutes, then it hits you that the whole game is jumping and holding the right trigger, and with a story which is not inticing or interesting and no emotional attatchment to any of the characters as you feel this is a sequel with the way the characters have been introduced. Overall Wet is a game with poor graphics, poor story and over a short amount of time poor gameplay.- Was this review helpful to you?

Wet for an hour or two
By Funder (3 reviews) , 09 May 2011I do actually like this game although i gave it a two rating. i was disapointed with it because i finished it in less than a day yet i did not play through the challenge mode. the music fits it perfectly in a wierd sort of way. The gameplay was very good with lots of enemies and graphic violence (Who doesent like That!). My tip is dont buy rent because you wil complete it before dinner time.- Was this review helpful to you?
