Where the Wild Things Are

Got it for the 1000g, but was enjoyable, not too frustrating, bit repetitive but overall a pleasant experience, would recommend to people who are looking for a game that DOESN'T challenge you, but you can enjoy.

I loved this game.

It was a bit repetitive at times, but still fun.

I played it from 6pm yesterday and completed the story mode by 12.30am this morning. You also have a 'garden' that you can mull about in and complete extra tasks - so i'll be moving onto that bit next to complete my game to 100% (currently at 93% from just story mode play).

After each level it takes you back to the garden. I chose to keep reverting back to the story so I had this completed first, but its up to you what you choose.

There are collectibles available in each level (a nice menu shows you the amount on each level available and how many you have gained - so it's very easy to go back and re-do levels where you've missed these collectibles and there's no need to replay levels in the hope that something is there when it's not!).

Collectibles can also be found in the 'free play' garden area too.

Achievements I found reasonable - I gained about 700g from the first play through on easy. The main ones being left at this point were collecting every collectible in the game and also two of the achivements are to complete the game on normal and to complete the game on hard... so as I started on easy, I will need to replay the game fully twice over again to gain these achievements for the full 1000g.

The game is good for adults (though I have warned of a little repetition) but is also easy enough for younger gamers to play.

I would guess that for an occasional recreational gamer like myself, it would take you maybe 24 hours (max) to complete the game in full with the full 1000g achievements. Otherwise, if you're looking just to complete the story mode (without extras etc) it would take you 5-6 hours.

I am really enjoying this game, simple and easy to play which is what I like in a game really. Not challenging game though which is a pity

I must say i kind of enjoyed it even though it has some annoying sections.

Great for your kids or for yourself if you´re looking for a gamerscore boost :-)

Where the Wild Things Are doesn't really resemble the story of the motion picture but takes ideas and develops them in its own way. You play Max, the role of a young boy in a world that seems only a fantasy. It is a typical adventure game and a rather simple one. Combat is simple, platforming is simple and there are a lot of collectibles. Although, thankfully the game splits up the stats and tells you how many collectibles you have collected in each level. Visually, I would call this above average for the typical family/movie tie-in game. The water, the scenery, the characters and the world look good. Sound effects, voiceovers and ambience are decent too. It's a rather short title and achievement hunters will probably want this. The only thing that could take time is the collectibles because there are a good amount of achievements relating to these.
