Yakuza 4
By LegendLee (6 reviews) from Manchester , 09 Apr 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Lets start off with this is a great follow up to Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4 is yet again a brilliant game with awesome story and gameplay with that great Japanese culture we love so much, With a very detailed city bursting with life and atmosphere.
You can do so much in Yakuza 4 it would be easier to say what it doesn't do anyway, From gambling to underground fight clubs, From dating hostesses to training youngsters in a dojo, Its the closest you can come to the japanese culture without going their, if you love or are even interested in the japanese culture you should love this game just like i do.
Overall Definitely give this game a rent if you are interested in this sorta thing 4/5*- Was this review helpful to you?

Yakuza 4 is alright like, ya know wha i mean?
By ScouseSte (14 reviews) from Liverpool , 30 Nov 2011There's loads to do in this game, ya know? Proper loads. I only did abar 2 or 3 main story objectives and spent abar 9 hours roaming around the town. You can go to the hostess bars and start dating birds an all of that stuff. I dunno if you can get off with them tho.
Basically, most of the game is just gettin into barneys with yakuza and meffs and just batterin them. But then most of the game is also walkin around and talkin to school girls as well, ya know wha i mean like?
It would be ideal for someone on the dole with loads of time to themselves, ya know wha i mean?
If you like batterin meffs and talkin to school girls then you'll probably like this game.
It sat on my shelf for abar a million months tho cos it's too time consuming.- Was this review helpful to you?

My brain hurt following the story.
By homeslice235 (2 reviews) from Sheffield , 10 Nov 2011After playing yakuza 3,i didn't think the story could be topped. Then along came yakuza 4,the story surpassed the game before, fitting all the seperate storylines together perfectly.Although the gameplay is identical to yakuza 3,which stopped me giving this 5 stars.- Was this review helpful to you?

Amazingly boring game
By a customer , 15 Sep 2011The installation phase talks about the 4 characters you will play with and goes on circle talking about their bio which is utterly boring.
Going into the game, that start up cinematic apparently covers the story of previous version yet it totally scattered and randomly collected scene where if you haven't seen earlier ones surely you won't understand anything.
The game play is fair not exciting. Also you would spend hours reading boring stuff and 5 mins playing.
In general it's very poor game and I can't understand how it comes from Sega!- Was this review helpful to you?

Pretty much the same as Yakuza 3 unfortunately.
By jimi1981 (9 reviews) , 01 Jul 2011Unfortunately for me it is pretty much the same as Yakuza 3.
I really wanted to like this and hoped they had made it more fun to play than the third one but it is just more of the same.
Lots of dialogue i felt compelled to skip, lots of 'random' and repetitive street fights, crappy map which kept getting me lost and lots of rather infantile side quests and games. A real shame as this could have been a great series.
I just wished they had made this more like Shenmue i.e. more fun, better story and more varied or more of a open world type game like GTA IV etc but it just feels so linear.- Was this review helpful to you?
