Wii only goodness
By a customer from Gloucester , 14 Nov 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
This game seems to work well with the wii, unlike a lot of games it is clear it is designed for the wii and it shows. Smart simple graphics provide a stunning effect, cut scenes look perfect and gameplay is smooth.
The concept is simple, move around putting the colour back into the white landscape in a 3D platform style, which looks amazing on the wii. The only issue I do have is the control is a little tricky, I'm still trying to get the hang of jumping up and then off walls etc (although the tutorial level hasn't covered that bit yet so perhaps I'm not doing it right). So you do need to be fairly good controlwise I think.
The game looks polished and appears to have plenty of depth, a refreshing change from party game packs. Definitely a game I'll come back to.- Was this review helpful to you?

de Blob ain't heavy...
By TheBigLebowski (13 reviews) from United Kingdom , 01 Jun 2010Good, laidback, relaxing, colourful-and most of all- pretty original game which ain't too taxing on the mind, especially after a hard day at work! Some may even call it therapeutic! Recommended.- Was this review helpful to you?

Low-stress game
By a customer from Lisburn , 15 May 2010When you are sick of shouting at the screen playing those stress-inducing, high-pressure, desperately serious games, play de Blob. Although it can be challenging, the free-play opportunities are great, and the jazz soundtrack is so relaxing. My six year-old boy loves it, too. Therapeutic.- Was this review helpful to you?

good idea, but a little awkward to play
By Orac (6 reviews) from Cambridge , 27 Apr 2010It's an entertaining game, and fun to play. For me, there's one particular shortcoming: you can't save the game in the middle of the level. This means that when you sit down to story mode, you have to play for an hour or two (depending on how much effort you put in to find all the bonuses and do all the challenges) before you can stop. This is a great shame, because the friendly, cartoony, childish gameplay mechanic would really suit shorter sessions a lot better.
There are other modes of play: up to four-player 'party games', a 'free' mode with no particular objective, and some short, separate challenges
that only take a minute - but you need to progress in story mode to unlock these.
For this reason, I don't think I'll manage to complete this game - it's not often I can commit to playing a game for a few hours at a time, and when I can, I'd rather play something more serious and involving. All the same, it's worth getting out for a look: it's entertaining, pretty, and fun.- Was this review helpful to you?
