Electrifying.

This game is wow from start to finish. You start the game as an everyday guy named Cole who has to deliver a package, but when it causes a huge explosion that destroys the city and gives you and others superpowers you soon realise this is no ordinary superhero game. Cole gains the ability to manipulate electricty and you can use these powers however you choose. You can traverse every part of the city and trust me on this, it a BIG city. This sandbox game combines the Assasins Creed climbing mechanic and the Grand Theft Auto style sandbox gameplay to perfect effect. You can recharge your electrical supply by hooking yourself up to various transformers around the city and this ensures you use your powers conservatively. There is slight pop in and tearing in the game but this is mostly becuase there is no install and it by no means detracts from the experience. The karma system in the game is an intresting way of gauging how people react to you ingame. if you have good karma people will ask for autographs and you will have blue electricity. if you murder innocents and have abd karma your characters looks change dramatically and you become more powerfull but people will run away from you and even attack you in some cases. Overall this game is AMAZING and the playthrough time is around 25 hours so its worth every penny. If you own a ps3 this is a definite buy and if you don't this is another reason to buy one!- Was this review helpful to you?

(37)GTA + Bioshock [no spoilers]
By TFolder (17 reviews) , 09 Jan 2013If you have ever been a fan of GTA series, particularly Vice City installment, and you don't mind a little Sci-Fi in your game, then you should love this game. For those familiar with the game Prototype, there is a lot of similarities of making your way around the city by the use of superpowers. Funnily enough, both Prototype and inFamous were released very close together (just one month apart), so it's hard to say who copied who. There is a little bit of everything in inFamous - climbing buildings, jumping from rooftop to the rooftop, splashing electric bolts and waves, healing pedestrians and plenty of freedom in the city to do all these kinds of things. The inFamous story is about a regular guy Cole who, after some mysterious blast, received a superpower of strength and ability to control electricity. Then, of course, you go on the journey of either become the Guardian of the city, or the being one Evil SOB - the choice is up to you. Don't get carried away though - even though you've got these cool powers, it's stillpretty hard to fight off 'Reapers' and other mobs; I've died MANY times on both Medium and Easy levels of gameplay. The gameplay in general reminds a little bit of GTA Vice City, and you can easy spend around 20-25 hours of playing this game if you do everything possible (that is including side missions). However, being a huge Vice City fan a long time ago, I think this game dated a little bit. While it was fun to play it nowadays (I played it for the first time in January 2013), the graphics do feel slightly not up to par, especially after some amazing looking games that I've experienced before inFamous. Nonetheless, the game is still worth a rent, especially for those looking for a game that will get them through a long weekend. Pros: - Long game (20-25hrs) - Open world, and a lot of freedom - Satisfying superpowers and upgrades Cons - Gets a bit stale around the middle - Side missions are repetitive - Game visuals feel outdated 3. 5/5- Was this review helpful to you?

play infamous before infamous 2
By a customer , 30 Sep 2012Its brilliant. Solid storyline, brilliant interface, intuitive controls, good bosses, wide array of options that effect the character and gameplay. The one thing that's wrong with it is the free running isn't up to the standard of games like assassins creed and uncharted but other than that it solid.- Was this review helpful to you?

Truly Awful!
By a customer , 07 Aug 2012Having played (and loved) games like Assassian's Creed, the Arkham Games and Bioshock, I thought a game compromising elements of non-standard special powers, large open spaces and the ability to scale huge buildings would be right up my street. Sadly, inFamous really fails to deliver.
Maybe it's has just dated badly in three years since it's release, but the graphics, controls, array of movement and combat is terrible.
Definitely not even worth renting!- Was this review helpful to you?
