Flight Of The Phoenix rises from the flames

The recent version of Flight Of The Phoenix comes out on DVD next week, 40 years after the original Robert Aldrich movie was first released.

The film stars Dennis Quaid, who has lately appeared in The Day After Tomorrow, as well as The Alamo and Traffic.

He features alongside Tyrese, the star of 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow actor Giovanni Ribisi.

Miranda Otto also appears, having been seen in two Lord Of The Rings movies, The Two Towers and The Return Of The King, and soon to be in Spielberg's War Of The Worlds.

Flight Of The Phoenix is directed by John Moore, who has also directed Behind Enemy Lines, starring Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman.

The film tells the story of a plane that crashes in the Mongolian desert, and its passengers can only escape by rebuilding the plane while being confronted with sandstorms and desert smugglers.
