Knight Rider beats Batman for best car

A new survey has revealed Britain's favourite "supercars", and vehicles that originate from films dominate the top ten.

Kitt, the car driven by David Hasselhoff in cult TV show Knight Rider, was voted the best car in a poll commissioned by MTV for the launch of new show Pimp My Ride UK.

Fans of the sleek, talking car will look forward to seeing it back in action, with the film version of Knight Rider, starring Hasselhoff himself, said to be in production.

The Batmobile came in second place, a vehicle that can currently be seen in Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale and Katie Holmes.

De Lorean, the futuristic time-travel car used by Michael J. Fox in Back To The Future, came fourth.

Herbie The Lovebug also featured in the top ten, another car that will soon be returning to cinema screens, with the forthcoming Herbie: Fully Loaded, starring Lindsay Lohan and Matt Dillon.

Other entries included Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Robin Reliant seen in TV comedy Only Fools & Horses and two cars driven by James Bond.
