Simpsons set for silver screen 2007

US television and movie audiences have been teased over the weekend with trailers for the eagerly anticipated Simpsons movie.

Simpsons newsreader Kent Brockman gave TV audiences the tip off about The Simpsons Movie, while audiences at 20th Century Fox's Ice Age: The Meltdown, have been treated to a 25 second trailer where Homer, sat on the couch in his underwear, reacts to the release date of the movie by guiltily admitting: "Uh, uh, we better get started."

While further promotion of The Simpsons Movie will no doubt be just round the corner, fans of Bart, Homer, Lisa et al will be delighted to know that the actual film will be released on July 27th 2007.

The film will be released on the same date across the globe.
