Stone to direct third Basic Instinct flick

4 stars out of 5.0
Sharon Stone has revealed that she intends to play a key part behind the third Basic Instinct film.

The 48-year-old actress belied her years to return as Catherine Tramell in the recently-released sequel to the original 1992 erotic-thriller flick titled Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction.

And speaking today, the screen siren said she enjoyed the part so much that she is determined to see a third offering produced but, she added, she will not be appearing in front of the camera.

Instead, Stone revealed she intends to take over from Michael Caton-Jones and from the brilliant Paul Verhoeven, who directed the original screenplay, and provide the brains behind the scenes.

"There is a script for the next part of the story but I would like to direct it rather than star in it," she said.

The actress also provided another boost for film fans, particularly in Britain, by adding: "It will be filmed in the UK again as the setting is more intense and gritty."
