Bean off to Paris with actors

It should be the highlight of any distinguished actor's career, starring alongside the dog-eared teddy and yellow mini of the hapless Mr Bean.

Which is obviously why respected thespians Willem Dafoe (Platoon, Spiderman, American Psycho), Jean Rochefort (Barracuda, Never Ever, Pret A Porter) and Emma de Caunes, daughter of Eurotrash's Antoine de Caunes, have signed up for Bean II.

Mr Bean is one of British television's most durable and well exported imbeciles but there is no doubting that the character is veritable televisual marmite – you either love him or you really, really hate him.

Anyway those who love Rowan Atkinson's character, said to be inspired by Jaques Tati's Monsiuer Hulot, will soon be able to spread as much of him on their toast as they want, as shooting is expected to begin soon in Paris.
