Estevez plots political frenzyThe release of his new film, Bobby, will see the nation's youth switched on, tuned in and ready to question the US' foreign policy, if Estevez and star actress Lindsay Lohan are anything to go by. Bobby tells the story of Robert Kennedy's assassination in 1968 and features a star-studded array of actors and actresses including Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Estevez' father, Martin Sheen. "It has become frighteningly and very sadly relevant and it has become more and more relevant as time goes on," Estevez was quoted by the Reuters news agency as saying, as he described how the real footage of student protests against the Vietnam war encourages comparisons with modern day wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Meanwhile Lohan has been waxing lyrical about the film's politics-heavy content, saying that her part in the movie pleased her because, as she told the BBC, "I feel I have always been politically engaged". "I strongly encourage people of my age and generation to have a say and to vote, and to involve themselves in what's going on in the world, because they are living in it," she said. Lohan was described by Estevez as being "so committed" to the film. The 44-year-old actor and director's previous films include 1980s box office hits St Elmo's Fire and The Breakfast Club.
