Casino Royale stays third time lucky

3 stars out of 5.0
The latest instalment in the James Bond franchise, Casino Royale, has once again secured the number one position in the UK box office chart.

For the third week in a row, Daniel Craig's first outing as the shaken-but-not-stirred hero is the most popular film in the country, followed by new entry Flushed Away.

Other films debuting are Deck The Halls at number five and Stranger Than Fiction at number seven, in the chart supplied by ACNielsen EDI.

A similar top ten can be seen in the US, where penguin-themed animated comedy Happy Feet pipped Casino Royale to the top spot.

Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj is a new entry at number ten, being a sequel to 2002's teen comedy Van Wilder. The movie starred Ryan Reynolds as a student whose attempts to graduate from college are hampered by his love of partying.

It also featured Tara Reid - star of American Pie and American Pie 2 - as a college reporter who challenges Van to change his wild ways.
