Happy Birthday Spielberg

3 stars out of 5.0
Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg celebrates his 60th birthday today and what better time to revisit some of the many classic movies he is responsible for.

Currently, the Hollywood veteran is working in pre-production for the fourth Indiana Jones instalment, although he was nominated for the best director Oscar last year for terrorist drama Munich.

The past couple of years have seen Spielberg take the helm of films including Catch Me If You Can, War Of The Worlds, The Terminal, Minority Report and Artificial Intelligence: AI.

He has won coveted Academy Awards for his work on Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List, yet has also been nominated another nine times.

However, a myriad of previous classics such as Jurassic Park, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind and E.T. the Extra Terrestrial also feature on the director's impressive roster, contributing to a selection of family-friendly titles.

Interestingly, he has also served as producer on a number of well-known projects such as hospital television drama ER, recent love story Memoirs of a Geisha and mini-series Band Of Brothers.
