Make your pick for film awards

The nominees for this year's Screen Actors Guild awards have been announced, including a number of already-released and forthcoming films.

Avid television fans can form their own opinions, as many of the programmes nominated are available to rent on DVD.

These include 24, which provides Kiefer Sutherland with a nomination for his role as stressed-out spy Jack Bauer and Edie Falco for her portrayal of long-suffering mafia wife Carmela in The Sopranos.

Grey's Anatomy is also nominated in addition to Deadwood and Boston Legal, while Desperate Housewives gets a nod for best ensemble cast in a comedy series.

The series recently returned to television screens in the UK, with the start of the third series finding Bree Van der Kamp marrying suspicious Orson, played by Kyle MacLachlan.

While still widely popular, the series has provided a springboard to success for the main cast, particularly Eva Longoria who appeared in two movies last year - The Sentinel and Harsh Times.
