Spend January with a good movie

3 stars out of 5.0
Those who may have a considerably lighter wallet after Christmas have a wide choice of new movies to choose from if they want to save money and stay in.

Thrillers abound with the release of The Illusionist, a mystery set in Vienna at the turn of the century, starring Edward Norton as a magician who tries to ensnare a young woman named Sophie, played by Jessica Biel.

Next up is The Night Listener, about a radio show host who becomes embroiled with a mysterious and shadowy young fan.

The film features Robin Williams in another serious role, with the actor once more moving away from the comedic territory he is usually known for.

Bandidas marries the western, crime and comedy genres in a tale of two female bank robbers, with the beautiful Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz taking the lead roles.

But for those looking for something a little lighter, the fourth season of SpongeBob SquarePants goes on release this week, featuring classic characters such as Squidward and Mr Krabs in another set of fun adventures.
