Basic Instinct 2 cleans up at Razzie nominations

4 stars out of 5.0
Film fans may have seen the quality films up for Oscar awards, but the Razzie awards may also deserve some attention from those looking for a DVD to rent.

Although the awards were established to pick the worst achievements in film for the given year, they may be seen as light-hearted in tone and are celebrated by stars such as Halle Berry, who previously attended the ceremony to give a faux emotional speech and accept her Razzie for Worst Actress.

This year sees a veritable feast of movies worth a watch even if to decide it should win the title of worst picture or worst direction.

Sharon Stone's sequel Basic Instinct 2 sweeps the board with seven nominations, as does Little Man, where Marlon Wayans poses as a baby to escape the police on his trail.

The Razzies awards firmly have their tongues-in-cheeks as categories such as worst remake or rip-off and worst screen couple are included.
