Queen Victoria rules for Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt is to star in a film about Queen Victoria's early life, it has emerged, bringing the number of projects on the go for the rising British actress up even further.

Variety reports that Blunt, who was most recently seen in comedy drama The Devil Wears Prada, will play the monarch in a film written by Julian Fellowes and produced by Martin Scorsese.

The 24-year-old star has been busy of late, completing forthcoming films such as The Jane Austen Book Club and Wind Chill, after gaining screen time in My Summer Of Love and Irresistible.

In addition, The Devil Wears Prada saw her nominated for a Bafta award this year, after her hilarious portrayal of Emily, the assistant to Meryl Streep's vicious magazine editor.

She featured alongside Anne Hathaway in the fashion-themed movie, which is currently out to rent on DVD.
