Tom Hanks to return for Angels and Demons

4 stars out of 5.0
News emerged today that Tom Hanks has confirmed he will reprise his role as professor Robert Langdon in a prequel to The Da Vinci Code, a thriller based on the bestselling book by Dan Brown.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hanks and director Ron Howard will both return for Angels and Demons, again based on a book by Brown and featuring another mysterious murder connected to an ancient religious group.

And it is probably hoped that the new instalment will match the success of The Da Vinci Code, which earned millions at the box office worldwide and is now available to rent on DVD.

The film featured a range of A-list actors including Sir Ian McKellen and Paul Bettany as a murderous monk, while Audrey Tautou - known to many as the star of Amelie - played Sophie Neveu, who helps professor Langdon investigate a horrific crime.
