Norton to Hulk up for new role

New reports state that Edward Norton, star of recent magical drama The Illusionist, is set to reprise the role of Bruce Banner in an upcoming Incredible Hulk film.

Norton, who made a name for himself in Hollywood in films such as American History X and Fight Club, alongside Brad Pitt, will take up the Hulk mantle from Eric Bana.

Bana, who starred as the Hulk in Ang Lee's version of the Marvel comic adaptation, has since starred in a string of movies including Troy, Munich and the soon to be released Lucky You.

According to the Guardian, director Louis Leterrier maintains that the new Hulk film will be more of a "reboot" than a sequel, but the picture is expected to feature similar CGI special effects to that seen in the 2003 adaptation.

The new Hulk is due for release in 2008. It will feature a script by Zak Penn, who has previously worked on the last two X-Men films.
