De Niro and Pacino to reunite

5 stars out of 5.0
Acting legends Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are to reunite in a new movie entitled Righteous Kill, it was announced at the Cannes Film Festival.

The two stars are to play police investigators in the film - which will see them share the screen for much longer than their one scene in Michael Mann's Heat - as the duo look into the case of a serial killer.

"You see those two icons onscreen together for virtually the whole film," said Avi Lerner, a producer at Millennium Films which will make the picture.

"It's one of the hardest deals we've ever done to put these two actors together."

De Niro and Pacino also starred in The Godfather Part II - although they did not appear together in any scenes.

Interestingly, the script for Righteous Kill was written by Russell Gewitz, who also penned last year's mind-boggling thriller Inside Man, directed by Spike Lee.
