Kevin Spacey 'confirms Superman sequel'Spacey, who starred opposite Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth in Superman Returns, met with director Bryan Singer to confirm his involvement in the next instalment, reports Variety. Currently titled Superman: Man Of Steel, the film is scheduled for release some time in 2009 and is sure to be an action-packed follow up to last year's effort, which was not the first time Spacey and director Singer had worked together. They teamed up in 1995 for The Usual Suspects, a mind-boggling story of a crime boss whose identity is unknown. It gave Spacey his first Oscar for the role of Verbal Kint, followed by a second golden statuette in 1999 for the portrayal of Lester Burnham in American Beauty, a man trapped in a dysfunctional family who wakes up and decides to change his life.
