Red Dwarf tops sci-fi pollThe series, which finished airing original episodes in 1999, starred Chris Barrie and Craig Charles as two of the survivors on a spaceship, forced to co-habit with a mechanoid and a feline-human hybrid. Compiled by the Radio Times, the top ten saw The X-Files in second place - anOther show which has now stopped production. It starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI agents left to examine mysterious and unsolved cases involving ostensibly supernatural phenomena. Hit series Lost followed in third place, while recently-departed BBC drama Life On Mars took number four; the show involved John Simm as a modern-day policeman who wakes up to discover he has travelled back in time to the 1970s. Other entries in the top ten included Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Quantum Leap and the bizarre but brilliant Twin Peaks, in which Kyle MacLachlan played the inquisitive and intelligent Special Agent Dale Cooper.
