Sam Raimi 'may return' for Spidey 4

4 stars out of 5.0
Evil Dead and Spider-Man director Sam Raimi has hinted that he might return to the job for Spider-Man 4 following the success of the third in the series, which was released this year.

Talking to Empire Online, Raimi did not confirm that he would helm the fourth instalment but said a first meeting regarding the project had taken place.

"We're looking for the writer," he said. "I don't know if I’ll just be a producer on it but if I can work with the writer in such a way so that directing would be right for me, I don't know."

The films have proved widely popular with comic book and movie fans alike since the release of Spider-Man in 2002.

Each of the movies in the series has starred Tobey Maguire as the eponymous hero and Kirsten Dunst as his long-time love MJ.
