An exciting teaser for the forthcoming Tim Burton musical thriller Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street has hit the internet, starring Johnny Depp as the murderous coiffeur.

Also starring Helena Bonham-Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen, the film is an adaptation of the classic but creepy story of Sweeney Todd, who gives his customers something rather more sinister than just a wash and shave.

After being falsely accused of a crime and sent to prison, Sweeney Todd sees his wife and daughter face a grim fate and sets out to avenge others' wrongs when he is freed, by slitting the throats of his clients and leaving his confidante to bake their flesh in meat pies.

The trailer hints at Tim Burton's signature Gothic style, as seen previously in movies such as Batman, Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride, where the laughs are as dark as the grimy and grisly settings.

It will be the latest in a series of collaborations involving Tim Burton and Johnny Depp; the pair previously worked together on films such as Sleepy Hollow and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
