Rats, sheep and aliens fill up UK box office

The UK box office chart saw a shake-up this week with six new entries and a wide selection of genre films entering the top ten.

An animated tale of food-loving rats, Ratatouille, hit the top spot, followed by Resident Evil: Extinction, a sci-fi thriller with tons of action and a lot of gore.

AC Nielsen's chart placed The Heartbreak Kid at three, The Kingdom at four and Run, Fat Boy, Run at five, with period drama Atonement at six and Indian comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa entering at six.

Another new Bollywood release, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, debuted at number eight, while Black Sheep, which is a comedy horror film about woolly animals of the murderously mutated variety, reached ninth place.

Finally, alien abduction is the theme of The Invasion, which was a new entry at number ten. The film stars Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.
