Webbing blues for Kirsten

Kirsten Dunst has broken up with actor boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.

The couple have both had on-screen successes this year. Dunst can currently be seen in the box office smash Spider-Man 2, while Gyllenhaal is still flying high after the success of The Day After Tomorrow.

Gyllenhaal, 23, who made his name in the cult hit Donne Darko, said he and Dunst would remain friends.

The 22-year-old actress has already signed up to play Mary-Jane Watson in the third instalment of the Spider-Man franchise.

The couple had dated for around two years.
