Indiana Jones and the Festival of Doom?

4 stars out of 5.0
The latest outing for Harrison Ford's daredevil archaeologist Indiana Jones could come at the Cannes Film Festival, according to rumours in Hollywood.

Trade paper Variety reports that although the official line up for the festival has yet to be announced, the studio behind the film Paramount is confident that organisers will want to see Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull on their screens.

Joining the irrepressible Indy on his latest adventure are Cate Blanchett, Transformers' Shia LaBoeuf and John Hurt.

Karen Allen, who played the spirited sidekick Marion Ravenwood in the original Indiana Jones adventure, Raiders of the Lost Ark, also returns to reprise her role.

The film has been directed by Steven Spielberg, the man behind some of the most successful movies ever, including Jaws, E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, Jurassic Park and Saving Private Ryan.

Spielberg also directed the original Indiana Jones trilogy, which started 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark and continued with 1984's Temple of Doom. Indy's last outing was in 1989, when Harrison Ford was joined by screen dad Sean Connery for Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

The Cannes Film Festival starts on May 14th.
