Lohman jumps in to hellish role

3 stars out of 5.0
Matchstick Men and Big Fish star Alison Lohman will replace Ellen Page in the horror film Drag Me To Hell after the Juno actress had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts, according to reports in Tinseltown.

Industry bible the Hollywood Reporter says that Lohman, who also voiced Ursula in CGI hit Beowolf, will play a woman who unwittingly becomes the victim of a supernatural curse in the new film.

Page reportedly had to drop out of the role because of production delays that pushed the Hell shoot back, meaning it clashed with her preparations for upcoming parts in Drew Barrymore-directed comedy Whip It! and thriller Peacock.

Production on Drag Me To Hell is now slated to get underway on March 31st, the paper says.

Sam Raimi, the writer/director behind the Evil Dead films and Spider Man 3, will be behind the camera. He also produced the film's script.
