Horton a hit at US box officeAccording to the boffins Nielsen, the animated flick - which features the vocal talents of Jim Carrey, Steve Carell and Arrested Development's Will Arnett - raked in a whopping $45 million (£22.46 million) at US cinemas. It succeeds pre-historic adventure epic 10,000 BC at the top, which dropped to number two ahead of another new entry, Never Back Down. Bad Boy Martin Lawrence is at number four with comedy College Road Trip, while conspiracy thriller Vantage Point is number five (with a bullet). Crime caper The Bank Job is at six, while The Long Good Friday's Bob Hoskins pops up in futuristic action thriller Doomsday at seven. Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson's comedy Semi-Pro gets dunked at eight, while Eric Bana, Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman whip up some intrigue at nine in historical drama The Other Boleyn Girl.
