Ritchie's RocknRolla movie 'in jeopardy'

4 stars out of 5.0
The future Guy Ritchie's new film RocknRolla is reportedly in question after it emerged that it may not get a release in the US.

According to reports, Warner Bros are not confident that the movie will find favour with American audiences and are considering dropping the project.

Starring Thandie Newton, Gerard Butler and Gemma Arteton, the film tells the story of London gangsters who are trying to get in a property scam.

Warner Bros. president Alan Horn told the Daily Mirror: "It's a well-made picture but while it's funny in spots, it's very English. I don't think it's broadly commercial."

Producer Joel Silver has reportedly been trying to drum up interest in buying the troubled film at several smaller distributors.

It could be bad news for Ritchie, whose films have not fared well since the success of Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.

The director recently claimed that one of the lead characters in RocknRolla was based on Pete Doherty.
