In total the Python's 1975 classic polled a quarter of the vote, beating more recent films like Love Actually, and box office hits like Four Weddings and a Funeral. There was more success for Cleese and co. with The Life Of Brian coming in seventh. Controversial ultra-violence fest A Clockwork Orange came in second, it was withdrawn in 1973 and re-released in 2000. Trainspotting was third, and Oscar winner Lawrence of Arabia was fourth. The results were based on more than 7,000 responses.
