Glover joins Alice cast

Crispin Glover has joined the cast of Tim Burton's forthcoming Alice In Wonderland adaptation.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Beowulf star will play the Knave of Hearts - who is put on trial for stealing the Queen of Hearts' tarts and is defended by Alice.

Burton's movie is being shot in a mix of CGI and live action and will star the relatively unknown actress Mia Wasikowska in the title role.

The eccentric director has already signed up some high profile names for the remainder of the cast, with Johnny Depp set to play the Mad Hatter alongside Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter as the White and Red Queens.

Little Britain star Matt Lucas has also taken a role, playing both Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

Glover is perhaps best remembered for his role as Michael J Fox's dad George McFly in the 1985 classic Back to the Future.

Alice in Wonderland is due in cinemas in March 2010.
