Pegg and Frost to be Tintin twins

5 stars out of 5.0
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have have signed up to star in the forthcoming adaptation of Tintin, it has been reported.

According to Ain't It Cool News, the pair will play dim-witted detectives Thomson and Thompson – marking the first time they have worked together onscreen since 2007's Hot Fuzz.

The movie – which is to be adapted by Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg – recently lost its leading man when 17-year-old Thomas Sangster was forced to pull out due to funding issues.

However, Lord of the Rings star Andy Serkis is already on board to take the role of Tintin's sidekick Captain Haddock.

Furthermore, the site also claimed that the $135 million (£92.6 million) project will begin shooting in around a month's time.

The movie – which is being co-financed by Paramount and Sony - is to be shot in digital 3-D using performance-capture technology and is scheduled for a cinema release in 2010.
