Lohan 'not involved with Elm Street remake'

Lindsay Lohan has dismissed speculation that she is attached to the forthcoming remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street.

It was recently confirmed that Samuel Bayer is to 'reimagine' the 1984 horror classic, which starred Robert Englund as the razor-fingered killer Freddy Krueger.

However, Englund has declined to reprise his role and producers have yet to cast a replacement.

Rumours had suggested that the Mean Girls star had been approached for a lead role, with producer Andrew Form saying she was keen to be involved.

"[Lindsay's manager] called us to tell us that Lindsay was very interested," said Form. "She looked [the script] over and loved it. She thought this was the perfect vehicle for her.

However, such claims have since been denied, with a representative for the actress telling E!: "It's not true. We don't know where this all came from, but there's nothing there."
