Blanchett lands Maid Marian role opposite Crowe

Aussie actress Cate Blanchett is to play Maid Marian opposite Russell Crowe's Robin Hood in a new movie about the Medieval hero.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star will replace Sienna Miller in the epic, which will be directed by Ridley Scott.

Shooting on the movie, originally titled Nottingham, will begin in Britain in April (09).

Daily Variety reports the film's budget will be £89.6 million.
