Oldman turns attorney in Zodiac

After playing a policeman in Batman Begins, starring Katie Holmes and Brit Christian Bale, Gary Oldman is to take to the law courts as an attorney in Zodiac.

Oldman, who played Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, will play attorney Melvin Belli in the murder movie based on the real story of the notorious Zodiac killer.

He will be joined by Jake Gyllenhaal of Donnie Darko and The Day After Tomorrow fame and Gothika's Robert Downey Jr, reports Variety magazine.

Production on Zodiac is expected to start in September under the direction of David Fincher, whose other projects include Panic Room and Fight Club, starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.
