Sheridan to make Irish mafia movie
Dublin-born writer and director, Jim Sheridan, is set to direct a new film called Emerald City that investigates the Irish New York mafia.
The director's career to date has often focused on all things Irish, and this film will be no exception as it examines life in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York City.
Sheridan's biggest films to date have been My Left Foot, In The Name Of The Father and The Boxer, all featuring the considerable acting talent of Gangs Of New York star Daniel Day-Lewis.
Sheridan also received an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen for his film In America.
He is currently working on an entirely different tack, directing Get Rich or Die Tryin', a film that aims to showcase the acting ability of popular rapper 50 Cent.
