Dirty Dancing voted best movie moment

A scene from the 1980s romantic movie Dirty Dancing has been voted as the best movie moment of all-time.

Mobile phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson carried out a survey of 1,200 film fans, and many movies considered as classics were shunned for more recent releases.

The Dirty Dancing scene where Patrick Swayze lifts Jennifer Gray from the water came top of the list, followed by Harrison Ford's shooting of a skilled swordsman in Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

An alien bursting out of John Hurt's stomach in Alien came third, with Richard Gere sweeping Debra Winger off her feet in An Officer And A Gentleman in fourth.

Keanu Reeves' bullet-dodging acrobatics in The Matrix were voted into fifth place, ahead of Clark Gable's "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" speech in Gone With The Wind.

The rest of the top ten film scenes were made up by the shower scene from Psycho, the horse's head in the bed moment from The Godfather, Clint Eastwood's "Do ya feel lucky?" speech in Dirty Harry and Jason Biggs' intimate apple pie moment in American Pie.
