Fanning is Hollywood's top female

Dakota Fanning, the 11 year-old actress, is said to be the most powerful female performer in Hollywood, according to Entertainment Weekly magazine.

She is judged to be the most powerful on the basis that the 12 films she has made in the last four years have taken £362.2m at the box office.

This comfortably beats the £328m of Julia Roberts, the £278.3m for Nicole Kidman, the £189.2m made by Reese Witherspoon films and the £165.2m generated by Sandra Bullock.

Despite her tender age, Fanning has already appeared in Man On Fire with Denzel Washington, Hide And Seek with Robert De Niro and War Of The Worlds with Tom Cruise.

She is also due to appear in Charlotte's Web, to which stars such as Julia Roberts, Robert Redford, Steve Buscemi and Kathy Bates have lent their voices.
