Gruffudd and Weaver set for TV satire

Ioan Gruffudd, the star of Fantastic Four, is to start work on his first project since completing the action-packed movie.

Gruffudd is due to appear in The TV Set, a satirical film about the production of a TV pilot show.

He will be joined by an intriguing cast that will include former X-Files actor David Duchovny, who has appeared in feature-length films such as Evolution and Dodgeball.

Alien actress and star of The Village, Sigourney Weaver, is also involved with the project, as are 13 Going On 30 actress Judy Greer, and Lucy Davis from The Office.

The film will be directed by the relatively inexperienced Jake Kasdan, whose father Lawrence has directed Dreamcatcher, French Kiss and Wyatt Earp.

Gruffudd is to play the role of a newly-appointed British executive, Duchovny will be the runner for the TV show and Weaver is expected to be the studio executive.
