Virgin comedy released in UK

The 40 Year Old Virgin, currently sitting proudly at the top of the US box office listings, opens at UK cinemas today.

The comedy is sure to prove a hit on this side of the Atlantic too, with Steve Carell and The Interpreter's Catherine Keener in the lead roles.

Carell has appeared in Bruce Almighty and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, as well as the US version of The Office, in the David Brent role.

The film is directed by Judd Apatow, producer of the Will Ferrell comedies Kicking & Screaming and Anchorman.

Another link to Anchorman is the appearance of Paul Rudd, who has also featured in The Object Of My Affection and Clueless.

The film is about a 40 year-old virgin whose friends try and get him to break his duck, but the woman who he falls in love with is only interested in a relationship without sex.
